The Master Tourbillon from Jaeger-LeCoultre : Tourbillon Watches
The escapement of the tourbillon is mounted in a cage which rotates on its axis in a regular pattern, usually once per minute. By rotating the escapement the effect of gravity is negated and the accuracy of the rate is improved. These watches demand a high degree of precision in manufacturing in conjunction with years of development and research. The Master Tourbillon by Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the most reasonably priced pieces within a subset of watches where prices can easily reach six figures. It also features an automatic winding mechanism and a second time zone complication.
