Explorer II : 16570

Stainless Steel, Oyster bracelet (SEL), fixed 24 hour bezel, black dial, automatic Chronometer (Cal. 3185), dual time zone, date, screw-down crown, Ref. 16570, Y serial, ca. 2003, 40mm, Near Mint Plus in Box with Papers

  • Band Notes: short, fits up to 7.25 inch wrist
  • Width: 40 mm / Height: 47 mm / Thickness: 12 mm / Lug Width: 20 mm
  • The classic Explorer II 16570 was released in 1990. The original model had the Rolex 3185 caliber, tritium markers, holed lugs, and was offered in white or black dials.
    Rolex continued to produce this series until 2011. Around 1999 (in the midst of the A series), the bracelet was updated with the Solid-End-Link (SEL) bracelet and and Superluminova luminous material. In 2003 (F series), they dropped the lug holes. The final change was in 2007 (M series) when Rolex started installing the 3186 caliber.
    It was replaced by the 216570 in 2011.
